Cake Pops Appeal to Eye and Palate

Source: stylist.co.uk via Chris on Pinterest

These cake pops show that sometimes a simple idea can be executed with details that make them little jewels to serve your guests. Whether you serve them as desserts or give them to guests as wedding favors, cake pops with the detail shown above are sure to impress our guests by appealing to both their eye and their palate.

Whether you make them in pretty pastels or white on white (so very wedding) cake pops are guest pleasers, and we don't see this trend going anywhere soon!

How To Display Cakepops

Cake pops are always tricky to display. Some brides have found ingenious ways to display them for their guests so they are decorative as well as easy to access. These are displayed in an ice bucket filled with beans.  The beans can cover up a Styrofoam bottom while still providing a neutral color backdrop to show off the pretty pastel color of these pink cake pops.

Don't want to go with an ice bucket? Try any glass vase with a wide opening. Glass will need you to cover up the Styrofoam with flat leaves or another material of your choices. I've seen metallic lame used very effectively, but only at a wedding with a metallic look. You don't want to combine lame with a pale pastel wedding.

You can also use clay flower pots painted white or in any coordinating color.

Make an easy sign to show off the flavor of the cake pop or the flavor of the icing using chalk board paint that you can pick up at your craft store or hardware store.

Cake Pop Pots

OK, you've made these killer cake pops (well not literally killer I hope, just visually) and now you have to find a way to display them for your guests.  These cake pop pots made by Stef at It's All In My Head not only show off your cake pops but are an efficient and pretty way to serve them on a sweet table.
Take note of how she used the mini cupcake wraps to set off each pop as though they were flower petals, what a great idea!  If you look closely at the cupcake papers she used you'll see the pastel pattern in them.  See her other great ideas as well as step-by-step directions of how she filled the bottom of the pots so the pops would stay upright.  What a creative lady!  She said the pots came from Michael's Crafts but if you can't find them there I'm sure you could make you own with a little paint on some regular flower pots from your local Home Depot or Lowe's.  While these marginally qualify as DIY projects, they are so simple that you could also use them as a project for kids to make for Grandma for her birthday!

Planning A Holiday Wedding Next Year?

If you are planning a Christmas or New Year's wedding next year these cake pops are perfect for giving your guests a favor to savor.  These four different cake pops are Red Velvet (a southern cake favorite, but it's made it's way north), a German Chocolate Snowball (for lovers of coconut and pecans), a Peppermint Bark Bite and a Black And White decorated with red sugar.
These cake pops are the creation of Tailored Sweets, an online dessert boutique offering the finest sugar shocks around! These holiday pops are featured on their January 2011 blog. Tailored Sweets offers their clientele a variety of  sweets, all of them closer to bite size than a regular cake. The owners are Sydney and Sarah and their favorite designs are cake pops and baby cakes.  Their baby cakes are described as bigger than a cupcake, so that will give you an idea of the sizes.

Tailored Sweets is based in San Diego, California and they promise to make your next party or wedding chic and distinctive.  Download their menu from their web site to see all their delicious dessert options.
